Pride of the Borough and East Midlands in Bloom
Since we started in 2003, we have been proud to have organised the Borough of Oadby & Wigston’s entry into the annual East Midlands in Bloom Awards and, on 3 occasions, the prestigious national Britain in Bloom Finals. During that time, we have improved our entry gaining a Gold Award in EMiB since 2010.
This has been achieved by many groups working together and especially our partnership with Oadby & Wigston Borough Council (OWBC). Unfortunately, due to financial constraints OWBC are no longer able to support the borough’s entry into EMiB so 2024 became our last borough wide entry.
More information about the competition can be found on their website www.emib.org.uk
However, the work of many neighbourhood groups continues and deserves to be recognised, so we have changed our focus and are now working with and supporting some of these groups who enter the RHS It’s Your Neighbourhood (IYN) awards. More information about the IYN is on our Getting Involved page, here is the link to the RHS It’s Your Neighbourhood (preview) that PotB will be promoting this year. More details can be found by going to the East Midlands in Bloom site mentioned on our Membership page.
We are proud of our past achievements and the work of so many volunteers which are reflected in Our portfolios produced for the judges each year these can be viewed by following this link to our “Previous Portfolios” page. https://potb.org.uk/east-midlands-in-bloom/previous-portfolios/
