Pride of the Borough first met in 2003, and formed as a constituted group in 2004. We have 3 main aims:
The group is made up of individuals, Friends of Parks, Civic Societies, Community Action groups, neighbourhood groups, Councillors and council officers who all work together to encourage people to take a pride in our Borough.
We meet regularly throughout the year to organise not only the East Midlands in Bloom entry but also floral display competitions. We also support other environment based community activities.
We are all volunteers and are always looking for more like minded people to join us and in 2014 we introduced our Membership and Privilege Card to encourage all members with benefits offered by local businesses. The sales of the card ensure we can continue to support the various community activities, for more details see our Membership page .
Meetings are normally held on the second Monday of each month, unless that falls on a bank holiday. There is no meeting in August. Dates of the meetings can be seen in our Events Calendar here.
